Charge transfer and excitation in slow 20 eV–2 keV H+ + D(1s) collisions
We used the recently developed hyperspherical close-coupling method to study H+ + D(1s) collisions at H+ impact energies between 20 eV and 2 keV. We showed that the cross sections for excitation and charge transfer to the 2p states are essentially identical over the whole energy range and stay relatively independent of energy from 2 keV down to about 150 eV. Below 150 eV the cross sections drop...
متن کاملExcitation and charge transfer in proton-hydrogen collisions
Excitation and charge transfer cross sections for collisions of protons with hydrogen are calculated by direct solution of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation on a three-dimensional Cartesian lattice. The 2s , 2p , 3s , 3p , and 3d excitation cross sections and the 1s , 2s , 2p , 3s , 3p , and 3d charge transfer cross sections from the 1s ground state at 10-, 40-, and 100-keV incident proto...
متن کاملElectron nuclear dynamics of H1H2 collisions at Elab530 eV
Proton collisions with hydrogen molecules at 30 eV in the laboratory frame is a simple ion-molecule system exhibiting a number of distinct processes such as inelastic scattering, charge transfer, rearrangement, and dissociation. The electron nuclear dynamics ~END! theory which allows full electron nuclear coupling and which does not restrict the system from reaching any of the possible product ...
متن کاملDissipative orbiting in 209Bi+136Xe collisions at Elab/A=28 MeV.
Massive, projectilelike fragments (PLF) from the ~o9Bi + '3"Xe reaction at E~,b/A = 28 MeV were measured in coincidence with lighter charged products and neutrons, detected with 4~ angular coverage. Strong correlations are observed between the deflection angle of the massive fragment, on the one hand, and various experimental measures of energy dissipation, on the other hand. These correlations...
